Davide Scaramuzza is Professor of Robotics and Perception at UZH. His research lies at the intersection of robotics, computer vision and machine learning.
Davide comes from central Italy, a region heavily affected by earthquakes. His work focuses on autonomous navigation to enable micro drones to search and rescue following a natural disaster. Previous research in this area has yielded several successful applications and accolades including the acquisition of Zurich-Eye by Facebook.
During his free time, Davide likes to play the piano and funded his undergraduate studies by performing magic tricks at restaurants, parties and theatres.
